NATIONAL BARS OPERATIONS MANAGER

Reports to: Commercial Director

Location & Salary: Ideally Leeds or Manchester

Salary: Upwards from £38K, dependant on experience. 

Hours: 37.5 per week

THE ROLE

We are looking for a National Bars Operations Manager to drive forward the customer experience and sales agenda in our existing Refectories/bar as well as spearheading our Refectories, bars and pub concepts roll out program across the UK. The Bar Operations Manager will work with the General Managers and their teams at each site to set, develop and uphold company standards on what we offer and how we do it.

The Operations Manager will also be at the forefront of the growth of the Refectory/bar teams. This is a great opportunity for a forward thinking, creative and pioneering individual who will have the opportunity to come into the role and implement fresh and innovative initiatives from the off.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Execution

o Ensure we are delivering industry leading service our of beer offering within our existing bar estate, along with food service, and maintain overall responsibility for service throughout all the venues.

o Exceptional customer experience that celebrates and champions the Northern Monk brand and values at the heart of everything you do.

o Ensure consistent customer service and experience in line with Northern Monk brand and values across all Northern Monk venues.

o Report and liaise with GM s and Commercial Director regularly regarding departmental performance / any relevant issues that need to be addressed.

o Liaise with finance department to ensure invoices are forwarded and paid on time.

o Liaise with People team to ensure all recruitment and team performance matters are handled effectively.

o Ensure cash/banking procedures are adhered to and strictly monitored.

o Take ownership of stock control process and accuracy with GMs.

o Implement and ensure the health, hygiene and safety policies are always met.

o Comply with and implement all legislative and licencing requirements. 

 

Deliver Sales Growth In Existing Estate

o Work hand in hand with your team of GMs to implement the right plans to drive sales growth across each of our venues.

o Bring an innovative approach along with forward planning of activity in each venue.

o Proactive P&L management in collaboration with Finance department.

o Effectively manage all budgets within set parameters.

 

New Refectory/Bar/Pub Concepts Roll Out

o Proactively drive pipeline of new sites with property partners in target cities across the UK.

o Move at pace and form strong relationships with key stakeholders.

o Visit target cities to get a feel for each and to drive local knowledge.

o Put forward recommendations to Board of opportunities along with forecasted sales projections / ROI.
