On the 4th August 2023, a team of Northern Monks are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks hike challenge to raise money for Holbeck Together food bank. This is set to be Northern Monk’s biggest ever in-house fundraising event.
The Three Peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside form a circular route with the challenge of taking in all three mountains in one day. The route is 24 miles long and involves more than 5,250 ft of vertical ascent.
Northern Monk have set themselves the task of reaching a target of £5,000 in donations for their chosen charity, Holbeck Together, their local food bank.
Holbeck is one the 0.2% poorest areas in England and challenged by deprivations in income, employment, education, health, housing and environment and suffering from high crime rates. Holbeck Together work with communities to strengthen existing relationships and resources, keep older people socially and physically active, empowering them to make more informed choices and live longer.
Northern Monk has chosen for Holbeck Together as we are committed to working with our local communities to give back and create positive change. We believe businesses can be a force for good and Holbeck Together holds a place in our heart and is where we call home.
