Key Account Manager- North West

Reports to: National On-Trade Manager
Location: Northwest (Liverpool, Manchester and surrounding areas)
Pay: £40K-£45k dependant on experience
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday-Friday

THE ROLE:

We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially driven sales professional to lead our growth in the North West, focusing on Liverpool, Manchester, and surrounding areas. This role will be pivotal in expanding Northern Monk’s distribution footprint, building lasting relationships across the on-trade, and supporting the continued success of our Damm partnership in the region.

You’ll spend around half your time driving new business, opening high-quality distribution points across key cities, and the other half managing key wholesale and operator relationships to deliver sustained growth.

The successful candidate will be passionate about craft beer, exceptional in customer engagement, and have a proven track record of building brands through quality execution, visibility, and advocacy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Northern Monk’s growth strategy across Liverpool, Manchester, and the wider Northwest area.
  • Drive new draught and packaged distribution across premium on-trade venues.
  • Support and activate our Damm partnership, ensuring joint success across shared accounts and wholesaler networks.
  • Manage key regional wholesalers and buying groups to deliver volume, visibility, and brand presence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with operators and decision-makers at all levels.
  • Act as a true Northern Monk ambassador, representing our values and culture in trade.
  • Execute regional events, tap takeovers, and training sessions that drive Rate of Sale (ROS) and brand engagement.
  • Work closely with the National On-Trade Manager and rest of the commercial team to align on strategic priorities and share best practice.
  • Ensure efficient commercial management across your area, from forecasting and budgeting to rotation and allocation of monthly specials.
  • Contribute to Northern Monk’s ‘Protect the Pour’ and ‘Grow Our Heartlands’ initiatives by embedding our brands in the region’s top venues.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Proven sales experience in the on-trade within craft beer, premium drinks, or FMCG.
  • Strong understanding of the Northwest on-trade landscape, including key operators, wholesalers, and regional influencers.
  • Strategic thinker with sharp commercial acumen and the ability to negotiate at senior level.
  • Self-starter with excellent organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for beer, hospitality, and delivering world-class service.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, attend evening trade events, and travel within the region.
