Our story truly began in 2013, at that time the UK beer scene was broadly in two categories - traditional British and brilliant in many ways, but tired and outdated in others.

Or it was made in the UK with a fresher approach but felt really, well, American or not from anywhere that meant anything to us.

Around this time, Russ' Gran decided to sell her house and move to a doer upper. She shared the proceeds with her family and each grandchild received £5,000.

Russ and Bri had a fortutious meeting at Leeds International Beer Festival, sharing Scottish heritage, Northern upbringing and a love of beer, a duo was formed.

With £5,000 in the bank, from a damp cellar up North we set out on a mission to create some of the best beer in the world.
