MANCHESTER REFECTORY

Northern Monk Refectory MCR is located in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. See what’s currently pouring on Untappd.

The site has three rooms, with the downstairs Cellar Bar available to hire, which also hosts regular events such as comedy nights and art displays. Please call or email mcr@northernmonk.com to enquire.

The kitchen hosts regular takeovers from local food vendors.

Take-away beers are available throughout the week with a 15% discount. Order and collect from the Refectory. Please note, due to the fact that this is a listed building, unfortunately, there are no lift facilities available.

Under 18s are welcome in the venue until 8pm as per our licence. Thank you for your understanding.

OUR FOOD VENDOR - CARDINAL RULE

  • The seeds for Cardinal Rule were planted in 2018 when we visited Manchester and loved everything it had to offer, but we missed a quintessential piece of home — the biscuit.
    Where we’re from, a fluffy, buttery biscuit is the heart of the southern American breakfast table. No breakfast is complete without it, whether you’re piling on jam, topping it with gravy, or loading it up with bacon and eggs for a stick-to-your-ribs satisfying meal.
    We’ve taken the time to perfect our biscuit with the help of our friends in Virginia and Texas and we can’t wait to share our joy, butter, and love with you!

The closest Train Station is Manchester Piccadilly, a 7 minute walk via Dale Street. Victoria Train Station is a 15minute walk away, via Thomas Street.

Piccadilly Gardens tram stop is a 4 minute walk while Manchester Piccadilly Tram Stop is 7 minutes via Dale Street

There is car access to Refectory MCR but no onsite parking. The nearest Car Park is CitiPark Dale Street.

GUESTS WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES AND WHEELCHAIR USERS

-There is no wheelchair or level access to the refectory; there are two steps into the venue on arrival

- There is no accessible toilet on site.

- Toilets are Gender-neutral.

- Toilets are downstairs with no lift access to that level.

- There is a mixture of high and low tables; and a mixture of stools, benches and chairs.

- The stools and benches are heavy and not easily lifted.

- The “Cellar Bar” private hire space is downstairs and has no lift access
