What is included when you book Chapter Hall as your wedding venue?
Signature package includes:
· 28 hour hire period from 9am until 1pm the following day
· Mock ceremony space
· A dedicated wedding coordinator
· Two meetings and a wine and beer tasting
· Private bar with full staffing
· In house caterers or option for external caterers
· Vintage festival style tables and benches for ceremony and reception
· Use of our sound system and microphones for background music and speeches
· Drinks packages and exclusive discounts
· Festoon and fairy lighting
Twilight package includes:
· 20 hour hire from 5pm until 1pm the following day
· A dedicated wedding coordinator
· One meeting with your coordinator
· Private bar with full staffing
· Catering space or in house caterer

How far in advance should we book our wedding venue?
The lead time for weddings is getting shorter! Our books are open three years in advance, though we often have late availability deals.

Is Chapter Hall available for exclusive hire?
The Chapter Hall is a private events space, with exclusive use of the top floor. We can offer hire of the full premises, including three bars and the beer garden, at a bespoke cost.
Can we have both our ceremony and reception at Chapter Hall?
We welcome celebrant-led ceremonies, though it is important to note that we are not a licensed wedding venue.

Can we personalise our wedding day?
Absolutely – it’s our favourite part! Talk to us about bespoke extras like custom beer mats, keg badges and personalised cocktails!
What spaces are available for our guests throughout the day?
The Chapter Hall is an exclusive space to you and your guests, though you’re not confined to it. Should you wish to sample our wide selection of drinks at the taproom bar or head into the beer garden, you’re more than welcome! Please note that other patrons of the bar will be there.
Is there somewhere for the wedding party to get ready?
No, we do not have any accommodation facilities.
Can we visit the venue before booking?
Yes! We’d love to host you for a showaround, and we’ll invite you back for two planning meetings and a tasting, included with our Signature Wedding Package.
Food & Drink
Can we use your resident kitchen?
Absolutely! We ask that you contact them directly. Details can be found on our Recommended Suppliers brochure.
Do you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?
We are more than happy to cater your drinks selection to any dietary requirements and allergies, and all of our fantastic suppliers are excellent at accommodating these.
Can we arrange a wedding tasting before the big day?
We will invite you for a drinks tasting around three months before the big day with our Signature Wedding Package.
What drinks packages are available?
We offer drinks packages from £23.95 (2026), including a reception drink, table wine for dinner, and a toast drink. We offer 10% off all prebought beer and wine for Signature Wedding Package couples.
Can we supply our own wedding cake?
Absolutely! Please bring your own serving ware, unless pre-agreed with your caterer.
Suppliers & Entertainment
Can we choose our own wedding suppliers?
Yes! We have a wide range of recommendations though you’re welcome to choose something new. We ask that all new suppliers complete our supplier forms before coming onto site.
Do you have recommended photographers, florists and DJs?
We have a wide range of recommendations, including an in house florist. If you have something particular in mind, let us know and we can guide you.
Is there space for a live band or entertainment?
There is indeed – typically to the left of the bar in the space. There is no noise limiter in the venue though we do ask that bands stay below 90dB. This is enforced via a handheld decibel metre.
Can we decorate the venue ourselves?
Yes! We recommend adding the Set Up Day to your package to really enjoy the experience. If you’re looking for more support, you can add our Events Assistant Set Up where we’ll do the hard work for you!
Are candles and confetti allowed?
We allow candles in hurricane vases (no enclosed flames). We do not allow confetti and there is a £250 cleaning fee for any confetti usage.
Practical Questions
Is there parking available for guests?
Chapter Hall is located in Leeds city centre, with several public car parks nearby. On-site parking is extremely limited, so we recommend that guests use nearby public parking facilities or public transport.
Is Chapter Hall accessible for guests with disabilities?
Due to the listed nature of Northern Monk Refectory LDS and The Chapter Hall, we are not an accessible building. The events space is on the top floor without lift access.
Is there accommodation nearby for our guests?
We have a selection of hotel partners that we can point you towards, including Doubletree Hilton, a stones throw away.
Are children welcome at weddings?
Children are welcome in our private hire space, though they must be accompanied at all times.
Are dogs allowed at Chapter Hall weddings?
We are very dog friendly! Please make sure they are accompanied and leave when the music gets louder.
What time does the wedding reception need to finish?
Our last orders runs at 11:15pm as standard, with the bar closing at 11:30pm and lights up at 12am. We can extend by an hour for a late license fee of £350.
Booking & Pricing
How much does it cost to hire Chapter Hall for a wedding?
Our Signature packages start at £3100 for 2027.
Do you offer weekday or winter wedding packages?
Our pricing is based around peak days in the week rather than seasonally. We often offer late availability packages – get in touch!
How much is the deposit to secure our date?
We ask for a 20% deposit to secure your date.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms depend on how far in advance you cancel your booking. Please refer to our full Chapter Hall Wedding Terms & Conditions for details of cancellation charges, refunds and date changes.
