FRESH FROM THE OLD FLAX STORE // 1 of 12 // HAZY PALE // 5.6%

It’s a fresh year and a fresh approach at the Old Flax Store. 

Along with a larger hop dosing scheme and wide variety of formats, we have upped the ABV to 5.6% this year to help get more punch from our hops. We have also increased the complexity of the malt bill to build a thicker mouthfeel as well as a denser haze. 

For January we are going with Ad’s favourite New Zealand hop Nelson and have used Floe, Super and Subzero Hop Kief for some extra umph behind Nelson’s classic white grape and gooseberry flavours. We have hop charged the kettle with Citra and Floe Nelson to extract a tonne more of flavour and aroma, along with a first day dry hop of Super Sauvin that’ll be boosted with Phantasm for great returns. To round things out there’s a late stage dry hop of Strata to give a touch of dankness and Grapefruit and Mango. AND THEN a final touch of Subzero Nelson Hop Kief, a cold extracted Hop Oil, to make sure the Nelson shines through. 

This bold and fruity Hazy Pale Ale really sets the standard for the year ahead and we can’t wait to see what comes out of the Old Flax Store in 2026.
